That is, whether a Christian still struggles to comply with God’s laws in one area of his/her life or not, he/she is still required to preach God’s truth at all times – without any dilution or over-simplicity.
God’s righteous standard remains irrevocable; therefore, believers have to preach it always.
We must learn from Jesus whose preaching throughout the scripture laid emphasis on holiness – as the only requirement that qualifies anyone for God’s kingdom.
Christ even stated,
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
In addition, for any Christian to adequately comply with God’s righteous standard and preach it, he/she must have been empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Without him (Holy Spirit) in control, it is absolutely impossible for anyone to please God.
He will also help us to live by example and preach undiluted word of God.
Prayer of Holiness
Dear Jesus Christ, please help me to be an honest Christian who will live according to the scripture and also preached the truth of your kingdom.
Empower me with your Holy Spirit to live holy and acceptable life before you; let your divine Spirit give me a contrite heart “To talk the talk and walk the walk” for the purpose of benefitting your kingdom.
When my earthly race is over, please count me worthy in your eternal kingdom to rejoice in your presence forever!
For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
Christians are warned to beware of a surge of immoral activities that would perpetuate our society in the last days (Such as we now see).
Bible warned that some believers would be deceived and backslide from faith if care is not taken.
Bible warned Christians,
“…These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain an advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit” (Jude 1:16-19).
Jesus Christ proved himself as the living water to the world.
In the scripture, a woman met the Messiah and was surprised to hear him declaring: “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water” (John 4:10 NIV).
While the woman appeared to be confused, Jesus explained further to say, “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.
Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14).
Lesson from The Living Water
Jesus Christ is the living water that comes from God.
Anyone who drinks from the water shall not thirst again! The effect of Jesus’ power surpasses quenching any physical thirst.
King Solomon had the fear of God. He respected him and built a temple dedicated to his honor.
At the completion of the temple, the God-fearing king called all people and prayed for them as the scripture reported,
“When Solomon had finished all these prayers and supplications to the Lord, he rose from before the altar of the Lord, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven. He stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying: “Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised.
Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses. May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us” (1 Kings 8:54-57 NKJV).
Lesson on Fear of God as it Leads to Success
God has the power to assist anyone to achieve success.
Family matters to God, therefore Christians are called to be responsible for our family.
All believers must represent God in our various homes.
Our love expression will benefit everyone – Including God!
Bible challenged Christians to be responsible for our homes as stated,
“Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, maybe won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.
Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God…
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous” (1 Peter 3:1-8).
Bible harshly rebukes any believer who is not responsible for his home. He is called ”An Infidel! (1 Timothy 5:8)
Show Love to Your Family As You Claim to Love God
Charity begins at home. Therefore, anyone who claims to love God must first start to express it at home.
Our family members share common blood. They are much closer to us in this world than anyone else; therefore, we must choose to love them dearly.
No argument that every Christian is directly responsible for the welfare of his home!
Our family members deserve our first-class attention.
Christians Must Not Be Sentimental with Love
There is no exception to the rule of true love.
Christians are not to only specialize in loving our relatives, but we must also love other people as well.
No substitute for genuine love. Therefore, each Christian must love God and also love our neighbors.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)
Christians must care for each other. We must be on the lookout and be protective of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Iron sharpeneth iron. Believers must care and forgive each other. We must move on to celebrate the true love of Jesus Christ despite our minor differences.
So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” (Luke 17:3-4)
Believers must pray and care for one another.
Christians must have a common love to benefit ourselves and also promote God’s kingdom.
Back to Home Love!
Christians must not forget that God requires us to promote genuine love in our homes.
We must genuinely express sincere love towards our family members.
A husband must love his wife; the wife must love her husband.
The scripture reported how anti-gospel people persecuted Christianity with the intention of silencing the believers.
However, the persecutors lost their battles and believers won! Every effort that enemies hurled against Christianity ended up helping it.
Persecutions helped believers grew stronger.
An example of persecution experience that turned to success gospel propagation is reported:
“As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:3-8 NKJV).
