God delivered the nation of Judah from the enemy nations that outnumbered them. The king of Judah (King Jehoshaphat) cried to the Lord for help, and he remarkably saved him and his people in an unprecedented manner.
The king prayed to God as the scripture reported,
“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV).
Since King Jehoshaphat prayed, God responded with a promise of protection. Therefore as a step of faith, the king organized a special worship session to God. Something remarkable happened afterward.
The Scripture reported,
“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them.
And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another” (2 Chronicles 20:22-23 NKJV).
Lesson on Helping Hands during Distress
Jehovah – the Lord God – will fight for his people, and he will not allow their enemies to rejoice over them.
Anyone who fights God’s children will incur God’s wrath.
The Creator will go any extent to defend his own people, and he will punish their adversaries.
The Creator has honor; he has promised protection for his people, and he will fulfill it.
He will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal of protection on his children.
Hence, anyone who aims at attacking God’s children should think twice, because he (or she) will pay for his actions.
The consequences of evildoers’ actions would be too much to bear!
Prayer of Affirmation during Distress
Dear God, what a privilege I have to be your child! I am your choice child and I am the apple of your eyes. I believe that you will go any extra mile to defend your glory in my life.
You will rescue me from evildoers and give me upper hands over them.
With my very eyes I will see my expectations on the adversaries!
All what I ask now is grace to remain your true child!
Please keep my feet steadfast in your presence, and let me remain fit to inherit your kingdom.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
