God’s will from the beginning is that He should be worshipped. Our God is jealous. He does not want us to worship any other god beside Him.
God doesn’t want us to bow unto any idol or worship them. Idol worship is the worship of demons and Satan.
The Bible states it clearly,
“Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.” (Exodus 20:5 KJV)
It is clear from this scripture that God hates idol worship. We must run from it.
It is an immoral act, and it is very disgusting to God. If you are a child of God, you must hate idolatry, just like God does.
I’m sure you are familiar with the second commandment:
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments” (Deuteronomy 5:8-10 NKJV)
Idol worship is a legitimate ground for satanic control. It isn’t enough to be born again.
One ought to experience deliverance and get rid of whatever is associated with idols. Patronizing native doctors or occult sanctuary or priests for charms, making inquiries, for support, or for success is idol worship.
Idol worship decreases men to nothing. Idols are known to be savage and completely fierce. They request what they need from individuals, and they get it at every expense, including inflicting sorrow and suffering on those who seek them.
Through idol worship, one gets into a covenant relationship purposely or accidentally with demons and forces of darkness. These forces dictate the outcome of the lives of the individuals who seek them.
The Game and The Reward of Idol Worship
There are ramifications for serving Satan or idols. God is against idols and their worshippers. We are instructed just to serve God.
He is the one true God. We ought to pray unto him for whatever we need throughout every day of our life.
Be that as it may, we should ask in faith in other to get from him.
We are not to bow to any image in the likeness of Jesus, or any of the apostles or dead holy people.
God instructs us not to make any idol in the likeness of the moon, star, sun, or any creature Idolatry is one of the reasons for the problems experienced in the world.
Worshipping idols drives people, families, villages, and towns into servitude.
No type of graven image was endorsed by God to be included in Christian worship.
God sees them as sin and abomination. It is a false religion.
Idol worship is the high respect of anything in one’s heart or life other than the genuine God.
Idol worship incorporates all occult involvement, marine, and black magic forces, spells, enchantment, curses, visiting witch, or native doctors.
Idol worship in the family prompts untold hardship, destitution, disorder, disgrace, rebuke, madness, less than ideal demise, disappointment, and servitude.
“They made a calf in Horeb and therefore worshipped the molten image. Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass. They forgot God their savior, which had done great things in Egypt.” (Psalms 106:19-21 KJV)
Technical Idol Worship
While we don’t see a lot of Christians today presenting sacrifices to Baal and Molech, there are lots of dangers in modern idolatry.
There is a peril in raising a carved image to a spot in par with Christ.
There is an additional risk in hoisting anything over our affection for Jesus.
In the New Testament, we see that idolatry relates not exclusively to worshipping carved images.
Yet, in addition, it is the act of giving in to any human wants over God’s will.
The Bible says,
“Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry” (1 Corinthians 10:4).
The type of idolatry we are advised to flee from includes more than just carved images, for the Bible states,
“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5 KJV).
Thus, any human craving that holds importance over God’s will is idolatry. Jesus said when He was preaching on the Mount,
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24 KJV).
Beware and Warned of Idol Worship
Possessions, desires, and works of the flesh are some of the things that can all be categorized as things of the idol realm.
We must strive to be that servants who do not serve two masters but rather endeavor to serve Jesus Christ alone all the days of our life.
God abhors idolatry with flawless hatred. It is adultery in the spiritual realm. It brings the wrought of God upon those involved.
Jesus said that those that worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
