Isaiah prophesied the birth of a messiah that would save the world. Isaiah’s prophecy sounded unrealistic to people of his time but it came to pass, since it was orchestrated by God. Isaiah prophesied,
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:6-7).
Lesson on the Birth Of Messiah
The prophecy of Isaiah which promised a “Mighty God” would be born was not easily believed by Israelites, but the prophecy was fulfilled (Isaiah 9:6-7).
The prophecy became a reality when Jesus Christ was born. Indeed, Christ the Son of God possessed all attributes described by Isaiah.
The greatest attribute among others is that Jesus Christ would possess the capability of establishing an everlasting government that cannot end.
Jesus Christ confirmed the attribute! In fact, Christ said,
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3).
Meanwhile, since Jesus is Christ sent by God to save the world, all people ought to believe and accept him as their Lord and Savior in order to inherit everlasting kingdom of God.
Prayer about Christmas
I thank Jesus Christ for coming to earth to preach about the kingdom of God.
I believe that he is coming back again to establish a peaceful kingdom that will void sin and sickness. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the only deity fit to grant anyone a blissful eternal kingdom.
I am determined to associate myself with Jesus Christ and his kingdom. My heartfelt commitment is to follow Jesus Christ and to faithfully serve him throughout the days of my life.
I declare that I (mention your name) am for Jesus Christ today, tomorrow, and forever! Amen.
