Abram Followed Wife’s Ungodly Counsel and Stumbled
Abram waver in faith and stumbled at his wife’s suggestions. He ignored God’s prior promise of making him the father of all nations (Genesis 13:14-16). Abram wanted a “quick fix” to his wife’s barrenness, but stumbled. The scripture highlighted the consequence of his action, “…And the Angel of the Lord said to her (Hagar): “Behold, you are with child, and you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren” (Genesis 16:9-12).
It is wise to listen to God than to listen to man. Man (and woman) may counsel anyone to error, but God will never mislead anyone. Yet, God has best options for his children at all time. Therefore it is profitable to follow God’s footsteps and listen to his instructions. Also, Christians must remain confident in their God for all his promises. He will do whatever he has determined to do – under whatever condition. Although the road may be rough and the battle may be tough, but God’s children will eventually see his promises fulfilled over them. READ FULL DEVOTION >> http://woem.org/bible/071815-bible-life/
