Have you been facing temptations lately? Children of God are encouraged to resist temptations and put devil to shame.
Truly, some temptations may not be easy to overcome.
Depending on circumstances, they may be subtle or harsh forcing someone to compromise his or her stand with God.
However under whatever circumstance, and irrespective of the version that a temptation may present, believers are still required to overcome it.
We must prayerfully resist a temptation and take proactive steps to overcome it.
Holy Spirit is the strength of God made available for us to overcome our trials.
In addition to that, we children of God must understand that God has an already-prepared victory for every temptation that comes our way.
All what we need is to make use of the opportunity. The Bible states:
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians. 10:12-13 NKJV).
Important Lesson on Overcoming Temptations of Sin
Christians are challenged not to fall for enemies’ temptations. Tempting situations will arise, but we are encouraged not to yield to them.
As God’s children, we must resist temptations to glorify God.
Meanwhile, any Christian who fell into a sin must repent and regain consciousness to serve God well.
A Christian who committed a sin must genuinely repent and make necessary restitution so that Satan can be put to shame, and glory be given to God.
Prayer of Grace to Overcome Temptations
Dear God, please give me strength to overcome temptations.
Give me grace and power needed to resist whatever trial the enemy may present before me.
Please help me to live uprightly with you always, and enable me with ability to exercise genuine repentance so that I can be fit for your kingdom.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
