No Christian should bank on self-righteousness as a means of appeasing God. Indeed, no human righteousness would be good enough to satisfy God’s requirements of holiness as the scripture emphasized, “But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousness are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away” (Isaiah 64:6). Instead of claim of self-righteousness, we (Christians) ought to humble ourselves before God and strive daily to serve him better. In other words, no believer should assumed he/she has arrived! No one should claimed he/she is more spiritual and has attained an upper level of faith. Believers must each day seek God’s face, and serve him with humility.
