False teachers are out there. As it applies to all Christians, Apostle Paul warned Christians at Corinth to be careful of heresy (The teachings that lack bases in the word of God).
Paul explained,
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).
Caution Against False Teachers and Teachings
Every child of God must be careful of false teachers.
Be careful not to be deceived with popular teaching that are contradictory to the bible.
(False teachings are our there. They have become rampant in our time).
Each believer is required to evaluate any teaching that he (or she) receives.
We must use bible to evaluate our teachers and their teachings.
If any teaching is found to be inconsistent with the bible, we must reject it!
A sermon, teaching, prophecy, or vision that cannot be validated in the bible must not be entertained – no matter how beautiful it may sound.
Any religion activity that fails to point peoples’ attentions to God must be considered inappropriate, and it should be rejected!
It is the responsibility of each believer to seek sound doctrine that bible approves.
Christians must make significant effort to know the truth.
Everyone must understand that God will not exonerate him (or her) for his ignorance.
Jehovah will not entertain any excuse; he expects everyone to make tangible efforts to read and understand his/her bible, and become familiar with it.
It is important that Christians seek the truth, learn the truth, and apply the truth to our daily lives.
A serious Christian is expected to apply the truth of the bible to his or her daily life.
Prayer of Grace to follow Bible Standards
Dear God, please help me to honor the truth of the bible.
Help me to affirm your truth to my daily life so that I can prosper.
Please do not let me follow teachings that are contradictory to the bible. Also do not let me follow heretic teachers!
Give me strength to be disciplined and sincerely serve you throughout the days of my life, so that I can be blessed and inherit your eternal kingdom.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
