Therefore, he lost more than 70% of his kingdom to someone\u00a0who had no royal blood.<\/p>\n<p>The scripture reported,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026And Jeroboam and all Israel came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying, \u2018Your father made our yoke heavy; now therefore, lighten the burdensome service of your father and his heavy yoke which he put on us, and we will serve you.\u2019\u201d (2 Chronicles 10:3-4). <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king had directed, saying, \u2018Come back to me the third day.\u2019 Then the king answered them roughly. King Rehoboam rejected the advice of the elders, and he spoke to them according to the advice of the young men, saying, \u2018My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father chastised you with whips, but I\u00a0will chastise you\u00a0with scourges!\u2019\u201d(12-14).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now when all Israel\u00a0saw\u00a0that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying: \u2018What share have we in David?\u00a0We have\u00a0no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Every man to your tents, O Israel! Now see to your own house, O David!\u2019 So all Israel departed to their tents\u201d (2 Chronicles 10:16)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16331\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jamestaiwo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/42304847_m.jpg\" alt=\"bible study\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OvtZyFSDf4A\" width=\"919\" height=\"517\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Lesson on Association<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Wrong association corrupt good people; children of God must avoid relationship that may affect their standing\u00a0with God. Ungodly people may care less about meeting God&#8217;s expectations, they may also\u00a0care less about any eternal consequence that is attached with a\u00a0sinful act.<\/p>\n<p>Ungodly people may pursue human feelings and\u00a0selfish desires.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, we (God&#8217;s children) are obligated to put God first in whatever we do.<\/p>\n<p>We are trained to prioritize obedience to\u00a0God above any human desire! Since we do not share common values\u00a0with unbelievers, we cannot\u00a0afford to follow their footsteps. Instead, we must remain\u00a0steadfast with bible principles, so that God can be glorified in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16332\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jamestaiwo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/48441310_m.jpg\" alt=\"association\" width=\"440\" height=\"293\" \/><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prayer of Grace to Walk with Godly People<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Dear God, please help me not to keep ungodly relationship, but help me to maintain relationship with godly people. Enable me to appreciate Christian values and practice them. Empower me through your Holy Spirit to keep\u00a0relationships that respect your\u00a0commandments.<\/p>\n<p>Do not let me follow bad examples, but help me to be\u00a0faithful to you, so that I can be fit to receive your blessings always. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
