Children of God must have confidence in God and know that he is with them at all times. Apostle Paul declared, “If God be for us who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
History has repeatedly made it clear that God is ever faithful to deliver those who trust in him. He defended his children during bible time, and he is still doing the same today!
God of the universe that Christians serve is faithful to help us triumph during challenges.
Christians are God’s children; we occupy a special place in his heart, and he will benefit us with his limitless provision and protection.
It is important that we (believers) trust God when we are at the point of need. Why? God is an Omnipotent one – His strength has no limit!
During bible time, Jehovah performed all kinds of miracle to protect and provide for his children. God’s supernatural power raised the death; parted the sea, and rained manna from heaven. God also rained stones to defend his children in the past!
A special example of how God delivered his children from trouble can be found in the 2 Chronicle 20. God’s children were oppressed and surrounded by enemies that outnumbered them.
The enemies intended to loath the land of Judah and kill God’s people. However, Jehovah turned the table against the enemies.
King Jehoshaphat of Judah called on God for his defense. He cried out to God in prayer and trusted him for help.
The king prayed,
“O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12).
God responded to Jehoshaphat’s prayer with a promise to deliver his land from the oppressors. Jehoshaphat trusted God and made a decision to start praising God immediately.
King Jehoshaphat demonstrated his confidence in God!
As King Jehoshaphat trusted God for his promise, he organized people to praise God. His action impressed God who immediately insinuated confusion in the camp of his enemies. The enemies began to kill each other until no one remain standing. Bible reported,
“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another” (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).
God’s Strength Is Ever Active Till Date
The living God that Christians serve has undiminished strength. God can go to any extent to care for his people. Jehovah who is an Omniscient one will help whoever reserves his complete trust in him!
A person’s attitude towards God will dictate the amount of breakthrough he will receive from him. That is, the more a person trusts God, the more his blessing would be. Therefore anyone who intends to receive full benefit should question himself (or herself) whether he deeply trust God or not.
Do you genuinely and deeply trust God during your difficult moment?
To enjoy God’s defense and provisions, your heart must fully rest on God! You must have confidence that he won’t disappoint you when you need his assistance.
Dear God, I am grateful that you are alive and ever active to defend your children from their troubles! I know you care and you will solve my problems.
Please increase my faith so that I can have confidence and trust you! As I trust you, let my trial turn to a testimony, and let me celebrate my victory to the glory of your name. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
Jesus spoke to wind and storms, and they obeyed him. Bible reported one of the rare moments as written,
“Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.”
And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water.
And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” (Luke 8:22-25 NKJV).
Lessons of Jesus Christ Miracles
Jesus Christ has undefeatable power to put both humans and spirits to flight. He retains some supernatural power that no one can withstand.
Not only that human conditions submit to Jesus’ authority, the devil also bows to it! In fact, the scripture stated,
“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” (James 2:19).
The authority consisted of the name of Jesus Christ put Satan in disarray whenever it is used.
However, not only Jesus Christ possess remarkable unbeatable power, but his followers also share the same quality as well!
That is, people who believe in Jesus Christ can exercise the authority of his name to live triumphant lives on earth. Why?
prior to Christ’ ascension to heaven, he shared his unbeatable authority with his believers and said,
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18).
Therefore since Christ has prepared the condition of victory for his followers to live overcomers’ lives, Christian should attempt to utilize the opportunity.
Believers should no more live in fear, shame, or regret; we must raise our heads to enjoy Christ’s authority and sail unto victory in every situation.
Prayer of Miracles
Dear Jesus Christ, I strongly believe that I share the same miracle power with you, and I stand to exercise the authority of your name to proclaim my victory.
Therefore, with the strong affirmation I make the following declarations:
I command Satan to get lost from every situation that relates to me.
I command all the enemy’s grips to break from my life in the name of Jesus!
I proclaim my liberty in the name of Jesus Christ; henceforth, all situations must work to my advantage.
My time has come to shout the shout of victory, and sing hosanna praises to the name of my God!
Thank you Jesus Christ for earning me the great victory through the authority of your name. Amen.
Believers must trust God and have a full assurance that he is in control of our lives.
Jehovah is ever-present with his people; he will remain close to us and remain faithful to his promises in our lives.
The heavenly Father will ever remain present to cater to us (his children) in whatever circumstances of life we may be undergoing.
God will help us overcome problems.
God will move mountains and level valleys for as many that can completely trust him.
It is important that Christians trust God in every situation.
The scripture reminds us,
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea” (Psalm 46:1-2).
Some Challenges That Christians May Face in Trusting God
The call for Christians to trust God may sound easy, but it may be sometimes difficult to demonstrate.
Christians may be tempted to look somewhere else other than to God during afflictions.
However, no matter how difficult a situation may appear, believers must always remember that God is greater than our challenges.
Christians must be careful not to make irrational decisions during our trying moments.
Believers must avoid the following factors:
The temptation to focus on challenges
The temptation to seek for a quick-fix solution (temporal solution)
Temptation to live in pretense – (denial of a problem)
Temptation to solely rely on human knowledge (which is limited)
Importance of Trusting God
As Christians, we must understand the greatness of our God and demonstrate strong faith in him (especially during our difficult moments).
We may not have money, material, or other resources needed to confront our tough situations, but we have God who has all things at his disposal.
He owns the whole world at the palm of his hands. He is in control of all situations, and therefore will neither leave nor forsake us at any moment.
Psalm 121 declares: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep…the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Some Facts that Christians Must Remember about Trusting in God
We serve a conquering God. Our God is able to conquer all battles of life and award us victory!
There will be no mountain so high or a valley so low that he will not take care.
God can, and he will handle the “lows” and “highs” for his children.
He will make all things work together for the advantage of people that serve him!
The purpose of God’s engagement in any situation is to glorify himself.
Since believers are his children, he will do the needful to honor himself in our lives.
That is, the Creator will fight and win battles for the sake of defending his interest in their lives.
God has a plan for all situations. He is ever active.
The fact that a problem may exist does not mean our God is passive.
He works with his own schedule and he will ultimately help his children have victory at the appointed time.
Christians must continue to trust God in every circumstance since the Creator will show up in due time to honor himself in our lives.
Examples of People Who Trusted God and Earned His Reward
Jesus Christ raised a dead man back to life, and he handed him over to his mother who thought her only life hope was dashed.
The scripture reported the incident,
“And when He (Jesus) came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother” (Luke 7:12-15).
Compassion Lesson of Jesus Christ
Compassion was Jesus’ fundamental principle of Jesus while on earth.
He surely had a prime mission of preaching the good news of God’s kingdom on earth, and he traveled land and sea to achieve that goal.
Jesus was always outside meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of people.
For example, he miraculously fed more than five thousand people with five pieces of bread and two fishes when he realized they were hungry (Luke 9:16).
He also raised a dead man to life having seen the anguish of his bereaved mother (Luke 7:12-15).
We (Christians) should practice the same principle of Jesus by demonstrating compassion on the people around us.
To complement our gospel evangelistic efforts, we must endeavor to feed the poor, cover the naked, and visit the sick. Our efforts must also include praying for people who may be suffering from diverse trials and temptations.
Once we are compassionate towards others, the light of the gospel will spread around us and beyond – and many people will be influenced to come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ and be saved.
Prayer of Compassion
Dear Jesus Christ, please help me to have compassion for other people. Give me strength and a loving heart to positively influence people into serving you by showing true love!
Let your grace and virtue of goodness flow around me to aid the light of your gospel to keep shining.
Please enable me with the strength to represent you well on earth so that I can be acceptable to your kingdom.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
