In the redemption process of mankind, the blood of Jesus Christ plays an indispensable role. The blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary, brought about the salvation of our souls and set a precedence for every believer to live an overcomer’s life. The blood also contains God’s supernatural power to perform various miracles and to heal all kinds of sicknesses.
Two opposing forces: The force of God and force of Satan competed for victory over Christ’ mission to save the world. Satan, the enemy of righteousness influenced the opponents of Christ (the Pharisees and the Roman’s authority) to arrest him with the hope that they would kill him and permanently stop his mission.
The enemies colluded and brought various false allegations against Jesus, of which he was completely innocent. The enemies beat Jesus, hung him on the cross and left him to suffer till death.
“Crucify him, crucify him!” was what the enemies of Christ were shouting. They wanted him dead by all means with the hope that his mission to save humanity will be permanently stopped. However, while the enemies plotted and carried out their atrocity against Christ, God and his angelic hosts were eager to take the advantage of the situation. Their expectation was to see the Lamb of God sacrificing his life by shedding his blood for the remission of human’s sins.
Satan and his followers wanted to do evil, but God wanted to use their action for his benefits.Click to tweet
The enemies killed Jesus, but while they were celebrating their victory, God raised him from the dead on the third day, awarded him an unbeatable power over death and also turned him to be the Savior of the world.
God beat Satan hands down by resurrecting his Son Jesus Christ to life after he was crucified! The enemy who had earlier thought he won the battle soon realized he was a loser. The resurrection of #Jesus #Christ turned #Satan to a loser, and he will remain a loser forever!
The resurrection of Jesus Christ awards the gift of eternal life to anyone who will believe in his name. Hence, whoever confesses Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior will be saved!
The blood that Christ shed on the cross consists of everything that humanity need to live prevalence life on earth! Through the blood, a person can receive forgiveness of his sins; he can have his sins washed away and become cleansed to befit God’s kingdom. Someone who is sick can receive his (or her) healing through the blood of Jesus. The list of the benefits that a person can receive from the blood of Jesus goes on and on.
It is written, “Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11 NLT).
Anyone who reserves his confidence in the name of Jesus Christ and believes in the power of his blood will prevail over satanic afflictions. More importantly, the person will have strength to live above sin as the scripture stated,
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7 NIV)
It is important to mention that people who have confessed their faith in Jesus and believe in the power of his blood will have God’s power to effectively evangelize gospel. After resurrection, Christ endowed his power on his followers (Christians) and said,
“…All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:18-20 ASV).
With reference to the above Bible passage, it means not only did Jesus handed his baton of victory to his followers to live prevalent lives over Satan and his cohorts, he has also granted us his power to make disciples of all nations. That is, Christians now have power to loot the camp of our enemies and yield meaningful fruits for God’s kingdom!
A confident Christian must be able to say, “If Christ has said it I believe it!” All children of God must now go by the strength of the Almighty God to do exploits for his kingdom. We must preach the gospel of Jesus Christ from coast to coast. We must proclaim his gospel message throughout the world to lead multitude of people to God’s kingdom! The power of God that dwells in us will help us prosper and prevail on all fronts.
Meanwhile, not only do Christians have rights to preach the gospel, we also have every right to exercise God’s power to set the captives free! A person who believes in the name of Jesus and the power of his resurrection automatically has the right to heal the sick. If the person can apply faith to his declarations, then mountains will become plain and valley will level up for his benefits, and all glory will be given to God!
In short, a situation of any kind will submit to the power of God found in the blood of Jesus. Anyone who mentions the name of Jesus Christ and believes in the power of his resurrection (via his blood) will witness his miracles beyond any human comprehension.
Isn’t it a matter of importance that I proclaim God’s blessings into your life for believing in the power of his blood?
Please let’s pray:
“I proclaim through the authority in the name of Jesus Christ and the power in his blood that all your challenges become removed! I declare God’s solution to your problem! May all the promises of God come into full manifestation over your life! May you prosper from now on, and may it be well with you every day of your life! For in the name of Jesus Christ I have made my declarations! Amen”.

Crucify him; crucify him, shouted the Pharisees who wanted Jesus dead by all means. The enemies got their wish, but it became my blessing!
Jesus Christ shed his blood on the Cross of Calvary for humanity. He suffered and languished in pain from his persecutors who beat him mercilessly and squeezed the crown of thorns on his head. An already weaken Son of God was forced to carry his own cross as mob chanted “crucify him” to Roman soldiers.
The main goal of the enemies was to kill Jesus Christ. They hope that their effort will stop him from being proclaimed as the Messiah – the Savior of the world.
“Crucify him, crucify him” the mob were shouting. They wanted Jesus dead by all means. The authority (in collaboration with the Pharisees) dragged Jesus to Golgotha where they nailed his arms and feet on the cross. Hammers pounded the nails as they were driven into his arms and feet; he cried in pain but no one was ready to help. The enemies laughed and mocked him as he groaned in pain!
Jesus’ enemies were having a field day as they hung the body of Jesus on the cross and hammered the crown of thorns to his head. They even took their time to post on Jesus’ cross to showcase the allegation they brought against him. The signage was “Hinri” meaning The self-proclaimed “King of Jews.”
Blood run all over Jesus’ body as he was groaning in excruciating pain.
Not just the enemies mocked Jesus Christ, the onlookers and passersby did the same. Even one of the two thieves nailed to the cross took a cheap shot at Jesus stating, “If you are the Son of God, save yourself, and save us also.” (Luke 23:37).
No one sympathized with Jesus Christ, except a few mothers and some men of integrity. Perhaps those few ones murmured, “This is an act of injustice; this man doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment!” However, what influence have the sympathizers gotten? They were powerless by all standards!
Jesus Christ languished in excruciating pain on the cross. Blood flowed from wounds sustained from beatings and crown of thorns hammered to his head. Meanwhile a soldier doubled his punishment as he gave him vinegar to drink when he lamented for water. Perhaps the same soldier tossed spear into his side as water and blood gushed out from his side!
However, the experience of Christ from his enemies is a prophecy in fulfillment. Long before he was born, Isaiah had prophesied about him,
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5 KJV).
O that the blood of Jesus Christ may never be in vain over my life!
The blood washes sins away! He cleanses people’s lives from their past mistakes and make them fit for God’s kingdom. Believers receive God’s forgiveness via the blood of Jesus Christ! That is, someone who confesses his sins and prays in the name of Jesus will receive God’s forgiveness.
The blood of Jesus Christ heal all kinds of diseases and sickness. The power of God transpires from the blood of Jesus Christ to perform miracles in the lives of people who believe! That is, anyone who anchors his faith in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ and also trust in his blood will experience God’s supernatural power of healing and deliverance.
The blood of Jesus Christ gives Christians upper hands over the power of darkness! Since no activity of men could prevent Jesus Christ from resurrection, whoever anchors his faith in the same Jesus will have similar experience. No power of man or of Satan will be able to prevail over him!
Here comes the sweetest part:
People who share in the privilege of Jesus’ blood and resurrection power are the candidates of heaven. Jesus Christ will advocate for them on the last day of judgement! They will receive pardon for their sins since Christ himself has already paid for the penalty on the cross! The followers of Jesus Christ will confidently match into God’s paradise where they will rejoice in the presence of God forever!
Having mentioned the great benefits of the blood of Jesus Christ, a person who wants to live an overcomer’s life on earth and also qualify for heaven ought to consider the necessity of becoming a Christian. An inquisitive mind will check out the benefits. Perhaps he may have his own advantage to ditch out! More importantly, someone who is concerned about life after death ought to attempt to declare Jesus Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior!
Excerpt of last week’s edition
The Resurrection Power of Jesus and Its Benefits… Christians have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ to live above Satan’s trials and temptations. Also, no persecution of the enemy can prevail over us since the power consist in Jesus’ resurrection has earn us upper arms…
Christians will face persecution in this world, but God will help us overcome!
Today’s believers are in no way different from early day Christians that were severely persecuted by their opponents.
Early believers survived their trial moments; they also had effective evangelism.
Many new souls were added to the faith on daily basis when early Christians were severely persecuted.
A young lawyer called Saul spearheaded the persecution of early Christians.
He was obsessed of his Judaism (religion) and persecuted Christianity.
He persecuted Christians from door to door, and from town to town.
Eventually, Saul met with the Lord and became saved.
(Saul converted to Christianity and changed his name to Paul).
Jesus Christ saved Paul and turned him to his fisherman – an evangelist! (Acts 9).
The conversion of Paul from Judaism to Christianity infuriated the Pharisees who considered him as their effective agent.
They attempted to kill Paul, however God protected him.
God exposed the anti-gospel individuals that wanted to kill Saul as the scripture reported,
“… So he (Saul) was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out. And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him. When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus” (Acts 9:28-30).
Important Lessons on Persecution of Saints
1. Persecution of saints is inevitable
People who have professed their faith in Jesus Christ will suffer persecution in this world, but Jesus will help us prevail.
The persecution of saints would come in different forms, and make believers experience pain.
However, believers ought to maintain focus and serve God effectively.
2. Resolute faith will help Christians overcome persecutions
Christians must maintain confidence in God and hold on to our profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
“For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 cor 15:9-10).
Christians must be courageous to find motivation in our persecutions.
As we endure in faith, we must allow the Holy Spirit of God to rule us.
We must let God’s light shine through us to make Satan ashamed.
God will utilize our irresistible faith to conquer Satan.
That is, believers should proclaim the faithfulness of God while we are being persecuted.
The evil wall of the enemy will crack and ultimately collapse as we affirm the faithfulness of God.
Satan cannot withstand God’s light; he will cave in and yield to God’s light to shine as we maintain irresistible faith in God.
3. Christians to preach gospel while under persecution
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you” (2 Corinthians 4:7-12 KJV).
A Christian who suffers persecution should endeavor to live a pious lifestyle like Apostle Paul.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39).
Despite repeated persecutions that Paul suffered from his opponents during his time, he was determined to remain an active Christian.
He traveled far and wide to preach gospel.
Paul traveled beyond the border of his country and visited various remote countries to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He reached out to many gentile nations and led many unbelievers to Christ.
Perhaps the greatest achievement of Apostle Paul is that he wrote many inspiring letters to early Christian churches that were sparsely located around the globe.
Paul’s letter edified early Christians worldwide!
Those letters of Paul eventually became part of the manuscripts that were canonized into the bible.
Today, Christians throughout the world continue to find motivation and inspiration from the letters that Paul wrote to early Christian churches!
Christians to pray for God’s strength to endure persecution; we need to ask God for strength to turn our adversity into a motivating factor to preach effective gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dear Jesus Christ, I appreciate your word that states, “In this world you will be of much tribulation, but be of good shares, I have overcome the world” (Acts 16:32-33).
Please give me strength to find motivation in any persecution that I suffer.
Help me to stand firm in faith and preach your gospel under whatever circumstance!
Endow me with strength to maintain stable faith in you always!
Please subdue the power of my enemies, and let your Holy Spirit energize me to remain faithful to you, so that I can reign with you in heaven.
Please God help me! For the in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
Children of God must have confidence in God and know that he is with them at all times. Apostle Paul declared, “If God be for us who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
History has repeatedly made it clear that God is ever faithful to deliver those who trust in him. He defended his children during bible time, and he is still doing the same today!
God of the universe that Christians serve is faithful to help us triumph during challenges.
Christians are God’s children; we occupy a special place in his heart, and he will benefit us with his limitless provision and protection.
It is important that we (believers) trust God when we are at the point of needs. Why? God is an Omnipotent one – His strength has no limit!
During bible time, Jehovah performed all kinds of miracle to protect and provide for his children. God’s supernatural power raised the death; parted the sea, and rained manner from heaven. God also rained stones to defend his children in the past!
A special example of how God delivered his children from trouble can be found in 2 Chronicle 20. God’s children were oppressed and surrounded by enemies that outnumbered them.
The enemies intended to loath the land of Judah and kill God’s people. However, Jehovah turned table against the enemies.
King Jehoshaphat of Judah called on God for his defense. He cried out to God in prayer and trusted him for help.
The king prayed,
“O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12).
God responded to Jehoshaphat’s prayer with a promise to deliver his land from the oppressors. Jehoshaphat trusted God and made a decision to start praising God immediately.
As King Jehoshaphat trusted God for his promise, he organized people to praise God. His action impressed God who immediately insinuated confusion in the camp of his enemies. The enemies began to kill each other until no one remain standing. Bible reported,
“Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another” (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).
The living God that Christians serve has undiminished strength. God can go to any extent to care for his people. Jehovah who is an Omniscient one will help whoever reserves his complete trust in him!
A person’s attitude towards God will dictate the amount of breakthrough he will receive from him. That is, the more a person trust God, the more his blessing would be. Therefore anyone who intend to receive full benefit should question himself (or herself) whether he deeply trust God or not.
Do you genuinely and deeply trust God during your difficult moment?
To enjoy God’s defense and provisions, your heart must fully rest on God! You must have confidence that he won’t disappoint you when you need his assistance.
Have you considered what your enemies will suffer if you trust God? Your enemies will suffer unimaginable losses as you exercise Trust in God!
God dealt with King Pharaoh who oppressed his children (Exodus 11-15). The same God will deal with whoever raises a finger against you – The beloveth of the Lord!.
Be assured of God’s help if you are a Christian and are currently passing through a challenging moment. God’s help is on the way for you!” You will soon laugh and praise God for his deliverance.
Trust God and wait for his salvation! He will fulfill his promises so that you can praise his name.
Consider to pray to enhance your trust in God. Please pray,
Dear God, I am grateful that you are alive and ever active to defend your children from their troubles! I know you care and you will solve my problems.
Please increase my faith so that I can have confidence and trust you! As I trust you, let my trial turn to a testimony, and let me celebrate my victory to the glory of your name. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
The Pharisees and Sadducee surrounded Jesus Christ like bees seeking for every opportunity to bite their host.
The religion enemies set traps and tested Jesus on many grounds with the hope that he might stumble in his speech, so that they can arrest and kill Him.
Meanwhile, Jesus was sensitive to recognize the presence of his enemies, and He put them in the right place! When the Pharisees asked a tricky question about resurrection, Jesus referred them to a scripture that everyone in the society respected – and the foes became silent (Luke 20:27-39).
However, Jesus warned his disciples to be watchful of hypocrites who would be envious of their success and seek their downfall. Jesus said,
“Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers.
These will receive greater condemnation” (Luke 20:46-47 NKJV).
We Christians are God’s children, and we are lights that are surrounded by people who celebrate the works of darkness; therefore we must be careful!
Our works and godly lifestyles often irritate worldly people, and they would tend to react to whatever we do.
We should be sensitive not to allow evildoers to drag us into their evil practices.
We should not seek world acceptance and sin against God. We Christians must maintain our godly standards and remain heavenly bound.
God will definitely empower us to overcome our adversaries, and he will reward us for every job well done.
Dear God, please help me to be wise and be sensitive, so that I will not become a victim of wicked people. Help me to abstain from people who may influence me to sin against you.
Empower me to remain steadfast in faith, and let me keep my godly testimony unto the end so that I can be blessed immensely in heaven.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
The scripture reported how anti-gospel people persecuted Christianity with an intention of silencing the believers.
However, the persecutors lost their battles and believers won! Every effort that enemies hurled against Christianity ended up helping it.
Persecutions helped believers grew stronger.
An example of persecution experience that turned to success gospel propagation is reported:
“As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. And there was great joy in that city” (Acts 8:3-8 NKJV).
Any opposition that is launched against gospel propagation will only help it to spread further.
Since the Holy Spirit resides in God’s evangelists, he motivates them to survive under stressful situations.
Their God given anointing cannot be dormant, they must preach gospel.
(The evangelists are God’s instruments specially designed for gospel evangelization; they must preach gospel and populate the kingdom of God).
Dear Jesus Christ, I receive your grace and anointing to preach gospel by faith.
Empower me through your Holy Spirit to preach gospel and expand your kingdom.
Let any Satan’s effort to frustrate my evangelistic mission fail. Let oppositions against my gospel services be frustrated.
Let your Holy Spirit empower me to propagate your gospel on the land; in the sea, and on the air.
Let me prosper with your gospel throughout the world.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
Jesus Christ alerted his disciples to prepare for persecutions from anti-gospel people.
They would suffer difficult situations for the sake of his name. However, the Savior promised to help his followers overcome their afflictions, and helped them finish their race well.
The Savior said,
“They will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.” “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost” (Luke 21:12, 16-18).
All Christians are to endure persecutions and hold firm to their faith, so that they can inherit imperishable rewards from God in heaven.
The road to heaven may be rough, but it has a smooth end.
Jesus Christ has promised us (believers) the strength needed to overcome challenges – and finish our race well (Luke 21:12, 16-18).
Any suffering that a Christian suffer on earth would be insignificant to compare with the blessing that he/she will receive from God in heaven.
It is a worthwhile effort to remain steadfast in God, since there shall be countless joy to experience in heaven!
Dear God, please endow me with grace to remain steadfast with you unto the end. Let me endure any challenge that may come my way, and let me hold firm unto my faith so that I can be duly rewarded in heaven. Let me be counted worthy of your benefits in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
Christianity is God’s ordained religion that gives hope and salvation to people.
The religion promotes every good thing that can benefit humanity.
However, the religion also attracts the attention of some enemies.
Satan and his hosts often raise their ugly heads to harass and persecute people who practice Christianity – The Christians.
Christianity can expose its observers to some tough circumstances – Meanwhile the circumstances will ultimately work for believers’ benefits.
Paul shared his personal experience of Christianity and said,
“… Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.
From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers,
In perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness” (2 Corinthians 11:22-27).
Christians will experience trials and temptations on earth, but God will help us overcome them all.
Believers will face persecutions from people that oppose our faith in God.
The enemies will seek for opportunities, and also raise false accusations against the saints.
Believers must not be afraid of our challenging moments because Jesus Christ has promised to help us overcome.
Christ promised victory for his saints as said,
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).
Satan will try whatever he can in an attempt to break our confidence in God.
His efforts may include an attack on our testimonies; he may instigate people to abuse us, and he may aim at hurting us emotionally.
Meanwhile, our steadfastness in Jesus Christ is very important. Jehovah will not allow our tears to go unaccounted for.
He will reward our endurance, and he will decorate our lives with honor. Steadfast Christians will receive God’s good rewards on earth, and in heaven.
Christ’s affirmative statement of victory must be resounding in every Christian’s mind: Trials, temptations, and persecutions would remain temporal in our lives.
Dear God, please give me strength to maintain my confidence in you.
Help me to remain a steadfast Christian.
Let my faith in you remain firm during the period of persecution.
Please give me strength to remain in faith and prevail over my adversaries.
Empower me through your Holy Spirit to live an acceptable life before you always, and let the songs of your testimony ever remain in my mouth.
For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
