Believers must trust God and have full assurance that he is in control of our lives.
Jehovah is ever present with his people; he will remain close to us and remain faithful to his promises in our lives.
The heavenly Father will ever remain present to cater for us (his children) in whatever circumstances of life we may be undergoing.
God will help us overcome problems.
God will move mountains and level valleys for as many that can completely trust him.
It is important that Christians trust God in every situation.
The scripture reminds us,
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea” (Psalm 46:1-2).
Some Challenges That Christians May Face in Trusting God
The call for Christians to trust God may sound easy, but it may be sometimes difficult to demonstrate.
Christians may be tempted to look somewhere else other than to God during afflictions.
However, no matter how difficult a situation may appear, believers must always remember that God is greater than our challenges.
Christians must be careful not to make irrational decision during our trying moments.
Believers must avoid the following factors:
Temptation to focus on challenges
Temptation to seek for quick fix solution (temporal solution)
Temptation to live in pretense – (denial of a problem)
Temptation to solely rely on human knowledge (which is limited)
Importance of Trusting God
As Christians, we must understand the greatness of our God and demonstrate strong faith in him (especially during our difficult moments).
We may not have money, material, or other resources needed to confront our tough situations, but we have God who has all things at his disposal.
He owns the whole world at the palm of his hands. He is in control of all situations, and therefore will neither leave nor forsake us at any moment.
Psalm 121 declares: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep…the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Some Facts that Christians Must Remember about Trusting in God
We serve a conquering God. Our God is able to conquer all battles of life and award us victory!
There will be no mountain so high or a valley so low that he will not take care.
God can, and he will handle the “lows” and “highs” for his children.
He will make all things work together for the advantage of people that serve him!
The purpose of God’s engagement in any situation is to glorify himself.
Since believers are his children, he will do the needful to honor himself in our lives.
That is, the Creator will fight and win battles for the sake of defending his interest in their lives.
God has a plan for all situations. He is ever active.
The fact that a problem may exist does not mean our God is passive.
He works with his own schedule and he will ultimately help his children have victory at the appointed time.
Christians must continue to trust God in every circumstance, since the Creator will show up in due time to honor himself in our lives.
Examples of People Who Trusted God and Earned His Reward
Christians are ruled by an undefeatable power of God; nothing can subdue their spirits. They will always thrive – even in the midst of tribulations.
Paul boasted on behalf of all Christians and said, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body” (2 Corinthians 4:7-10 NKJV).
Lesson on Spirit of God
Christians are God’s children, and they have God’s Spirit that operates in them. No matter what Satan brings their way, they will prevail! No adversity can overcome them, since they have an unconquerable Spirit of God in them.
The Holy Spirit gives believers consolations during crises; he energizes them with remarkable strength to keep going when others have dropped their batons.
In fact, God’s children will ever triumph in all situations. They will triumph on earth, and they will also triumph in heaven.
Meanwhile, since much benefits are available for God’s children, everyone on earth ought to endeavor to become a child of God. Every living soul should confess Jesus Christ as Lord and accept him as his or her personal Savior.
God’s crowns of glory await Christ’ believers in heaven – where they will ever sing songs of victory.
Prayer of Affirmation
Dear God, I understand that I cannot lose any good thing for being your child, but I can only gain. Therefore, I am determined to be your child today! I confess your Son Jesus Christ as my Lord, and I accept him as my personal Savior.
I confess my sins and I forsake them. Please release your unconquerable Spirit upon me. Let him empower me to be an overcomer! Let him energize me to start living a triumphant life from today.
Let your Holy Spirit empower me to triumph throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
Christians are the most fortunate set of people on earth, they are fortunate to enjoy salvation of Jesus Christ by grace. Meanwhile, God’s children that lived during Old Testament era longed to experience Messiah’s grace of salvation, but they were not so fortunate!
In fact, God’s glory that Moses witnessed on the mounts cannot be compared with Jesus’ glory that will materialize in the lives of Christians.
The scripture explained,
“But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory” (2 Corinthians 3:7-9).
Lesson on Privilege of Christian
Every Christian should congratulate him or herself for being a treasured child of God! We Christians are the most fortunate ones selected by God to partake in dimensionless grace of Jesus Christ.
We are saved by grace, we live by faith, and we will go to heaven to enjoy everlasting goodness of the Lord. In fact, Christians will be more honorable than angels when will get to heaven (1 Corinthians 6:3).
Nothing thrills more than the pleasurable opportunity that Christians will have to accompany Jesus wherever he goes when we get to heaven! Meanwhile, non-Christians (unbelievers) will have direct opposite experience. Since they deny Jesus, they cannot enjoy his grace.
The Savior will not consider them as one of his own; therefore, Satan will claim them and hurl them to his final destination – which is hell fire. Hence, it is important that all people confess their faith in Jesus Christ so that they can escape horror of hell but enjoy everlasting grace and joy of Jesus Christ in heaven.
Prayer of Affirmation
Dear God, I have heard that Christians will enjoy all good things, and non-Christians will have nothing good to enjoy on the last day. Therefore, I want to be a Christian also! I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is the Savior of the world. He died and resurrected to save anyone who believes in him.
I confess Jesus Christ as Lord, and I accept him as my personal Savior. I confess my sins and forsake them. Please write my name in the book of life. I believe I am now saved by grace since I have confessed my faith in Jesus. I am now qualify to enjoy all God’s blessings from this earth to heaven!
