Christians are to always pray for God’s blessings because they are meant for them to enjoy. Paul specially prayed for Christians at Ephesus; however, his prayer applied to all Christians – including present days believers.
Paul paraphrased his prayer,
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:14-21).
Lesson for Christians to Pray and Claim God’s blessings
Christians are recipients of God’s blessings. We are God’s children, and all his blessings befit us!
Therefore, every Christian should endeavor to claim any blessing that he or she comes across in the scripture.
(We should always pray to claim God’s blessings as much as possible).
No Christian should hesitate to reclaim any of God’s blessings found on the pages of the scriptures.
No child of God should presume that Psalm 23 only applied to King David.
The same God that David served is the one that we Christians serve; therefore the statement,
“The Lord is my shepherd” mentioned in Psalms still means something to the present-day believers.
It means God’s protection and provision would remain available for us.
Truly, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still the same one that we serve, and we are entitled to all blessings of the scriptures!
Christians Pray and Claim God’s Blessings
Dear God, how awesome you are! You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.
You are my God, my rock, and my fortress! My total life is dedicated to you.
Since you are the same God yesterday, today, and forever, I claim all your promises of blessing mentioned in the scriptures.
May the riches of Abraham abide by me! May the prosperity of Joseph become my portion, and may the victory of David become my testimony!
Since I am a child of God, may his divine favor, riches, and goodness follow me throughout the days of my life!
May all my prayers and heart meditations be granted through the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
