Immoral conduct affected the early church and God’s miracle stopped happening. The people deviated from the worship of the living God and substituted it for conduct that God disapproved.
Bible detests immoral conducts: Apostle James reproved the early church as stated,
“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:1-3).
Lesson Against Immoral Conduct
A Christian must live a principled lifestyle to enjoy God’s benefits. Christians must prioritize holiness and yield to the leadership of the Holy Spirit so that we can prosper.
Christians are required to desist from immoral conduct that violates God’s requirement of holiness.
Immoral conducts are detestable to God, believers must endeavor to avoid it to fully satisfy God!
A believer who intends to enjoy God’s blessing must serve God in Spirit. He must not be a hypocrite who offers fake services with the secret intention of receiving God’s benefits.
Anyone who lives in sin must repent and live a pure life. God cannot be deceived, he will only reward those who refused to succumb to the works of the flesh but serve him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
I also pray that you please help the brethren to operate in love and submit to the leadership of your Holy Spirit so that your name can be glorified. Please keep the church pure to remain fit for the second coming of your Son Jesus Christ. For in the name of Jesus Christ I have made my requests. Amen.
God requires obedience from his people. He put people of Judah to task by asking them provocative questions. In a metaphorical statement, God challenged Judah inhabitants to consider what the consequences of their sinful actions are. God said,
“Now let me sing to my Well-beloved a song of my beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill. He dug it up and cleared out its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also made a winepress in it; so He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes. “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard. What more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?” (Isaiah 5:1-4).
Lesson On The Consequences of Sin and Blessing of Obedience
Which one of the following two conditions should be considered appropriate for us: To obey God and receive God’s blessings, or to disobey God and receive his punishments?
The most efficient decision anyone can make in life is to obey God and enjoy his benefits.
A person who chooses to walk in God’s way will prosper; the fellow will see the fruits of his/her labor abide.
Meanwhile, a person who walks contrarily to God’s laws exposes him or herself to negative consequences. Sufferings that are attached to an act of disobedience to God’s laws are not quantifiable.
If a person does not walk with God, he/she will automatically become subject to Satan’s influences. Since nothing good comes from the devil, the reward of an association anyone has with him would be disastrous. Hence, people who value God’s relationship should make their best efforts to obey his commandments.
Prayer On the consequences of Sin and Blessing of Obedience
Dear God, I understand that Satan has nothing good to offer anyone; therefore, I choose to follow you. My heart desires would be to faithfully serve you and obey your instructions. I will not deviate from loving you!
I will serve you with my whole heart, and I will give all it takes to make our relationship work.
Please anoint me with the grace and fill me with your Holy Spirit to keep my promises, and remain faithful to you until the end. Please count me worthy of your blessings on earth and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
